After having years of experience buying and selling comics on eBay, I believe there are 6 big mistakes that comic book sellers make when selling their comics on eBay. Here is the second big mistake they make. BIG MISTAKE #2: CREATING A CRUMMY TITLE Here's the best way of thinking about this mistake. When comic buyers are browsing the category where your item is listed they will be exposed to the TITLE of your listing. You must have an effective title in order to get people to "click" on it so they will see your auction. Buyers won't take time to guess at what your title means. And they won't waste time clicking on it. So using a title like "Comics For Sale" is terrible, will not be effective and will get fewer quality clicks....than saying right upfront in your headline "Mint Condition Superman #222, 225, 227." The key to writing an effective title is to write the most DESCRIPTIVE & SPECIFIC sentence you can in the few characters that you are allowed (about 50 characters). Don't fall into the trap of using unprofessional techniques like "L@@K" and other excessive uses of exclamation points. These "tricks" don't get more people to click on your auction, they make people run the other way. So make sure your title is to the point and accurately describes the comic(s) you wish to sell. Here are some very specific and descriptive titles as examples: Using some variation of these headlines will be most successful for you on eBay. Also, think of all the things that your comics relate to (example: Golden Age, Silver Age, Marvel, DC, Mint, CGC, etc.) to and try to create the best title that will include many things someone might be searching for -- even if it isn't a term that describes your exact item. By giving your buyers lots of ways of finding your item in your title, you will greatly increase the chances of getting more buyers for your comics...and getting top dollar for your comics.
