Film Storyboarding is the basis of of all great movie making. Film Storyboarding is just like a comic book they have a shot for shot image for telling the story. But for making a storyboard you do not need to be a comic book artist you just need to draw. Or communicate what you can see in you r mind. Tips on How to Story Board a Film: Basically you get a piece of paper with squares and draw the movie out shot by shot. Usually the script is used to track with the dialog. Ask your self why you chose this camera angle on this line of dialog and why this angle on this line. Storyboards help us to make the movie very intentional. Then Put it away and come back to it later. Revise it. Do it again. Do this over and over. The movie becomes more and more detailed and you become more and more involved in it. Kinda like a comic book. Story Boards are the creator of the movie. I see lots of people doing it with storyboards and the ones doing it without are more crazed and chaotic especially during the production of the film. And that's the last thing a film set needs is a crazy director running their film set. Leave that job for the Producer. Film Storyboarding does require a bit more time and patience but that little effort placed into that avenue will pay off tremendously in the long run for sure. Enjoy your Quest of Being a Director.
